Choosing the Right Setting

The setting is the metal framework that holds the diamond. Different settings can make a diamond appear larger or more brilliant, and the choice of metal can affect its durability and aesthetic.

  • Types of settings:
    • Prong setting: Classic and allows maximum light to pass through the diamond.
    • Bezel setting: More secure, with a metal rim around the diamond.
    • Pave setting: Small diamonds around the center stone for extra sparkle.
    • Halo setting: A ring of smaller diamonds surrounding a central diamond for added brilliance.
  • Metal choices:
    • Platinum: Durable and hypoallergenic, but more expensive.
    • White gold: Similar to platinum in appearance but more affordable.
    • Yellow and Rose gold: Offer a warmer tone and are more affordable.
